A fast growing company looking for an experienced Construction/Capital Project Accountant to join the team!

We are seeking a Construction Staff Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, cash management and lead all construction accounting. The position’s primary function is to ensure that our accounting processes are complete, accurate and timely, and in compliance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Fixed Assets:

• Review all contractor invoices and draw requests for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all construction projects are tracked and approved by proper departments.
• Process payments for all construction invoices accurately and timely.
• Assist with creation and tracking of construction budget vs actual for all new locations.
• Assist with fixed asset additions and deletions including roll forward.
• Track all projected construction expenses for monthly cash flow forecast.

Accounts Payable Department:

• Oversee cash management related to AP for construction in progress accounts.
• Ensure vendors are paid in accordance with company policy and cash flow forecast.
• Approve vendor payment selections, oversee ACH payment process.
• Assist with the month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations of all bank accounts.
• Preparation of closing journal entries in accordance with applicable accounting practices.
• Provide support during month end close including accruals, journal entries and P&L questions.
• Track all construction purchases and invoices; produce monthly report for projects.
• Assist management with implementation of processes and controls.
• Manage accounting process for all construction projects including timely processing of all invoices, payments, approvals and compliance issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 5 years experience of progressive accounting responsibility.
• Well-grounded and in-depth technical knowledge of GAAP.
• 3 years of Construction Accounting experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or other similar multi-entity integrated accounting software.
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
• Experience in project management is a plus.
• Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial, and employee matters.
• Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, and occasional walking and standing.
• Position requires frequent use of a computer, reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

This position will be based in the Palm City/Stuart area.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
